Book Review - "Heaven is for REAL" for kids" as told by Colton Burpo

I was recently given the opportunity to review "Heaven is for REAL" for kids, as told by Colton Burpo to his Parents, Todd and Sonja Burpo.

This is a a children's book and is the story of a 4 year old child's trip to heaven and back. This is a boy named, Colton Burpo's, real life story that he told his mom and dad after he was ill and experienced going to heaven, but came back. This book is written on a level that children understand. I like that this is told by the child because it makes it easier for children to relate to the author.

The book itself is amazing. I sat down with my daughter and fell in love with Colton's book. It is so neat that a child wrote this. I like that Colton gives the reader a clear picture of what happened to him when he went to heaven. I enjoyed the pictures and so did my children. It helped them understand things more too. This is a great book for kids and teaches children all about heaven, but does it on their level. I personally loved that the descriptions of heaven were so detailed and I find it amazing that this was done by a child! I would definitely recommend this book.

Fekkai Review

I was recently chosen by bzzagent to receive some Fekkai haircare products in return for my honest review.  I have only used the shampoo, conditioner and glossing cream once when I got a previous sample in the mail a few months back.

Today I used the Full Volume Shampoo.  This is for fine or limp hair.  It contains botanicals too.  It has a really nice fragrance and I noticed it does a great job cleaning your hair without drying it out.  The fragrance reminded me a bit of ginger and citrus.  I then used the Full Volume Conditioner.  It worked great in smoothing out frizzies and getting rid of tangles.  I also like that it isn't too heavy and didn't weigh my hair down.  Some conditioners are too oily and make my hair limp.  This did the opposite and made my hair full.  I also used a pea size of the Glossing Cream before I dried my hair.  It works great in smoothing frizz and just adding a lot of sheen.  I would say that this is a great line for luxurious hair.  The above picture is how my hair turned out after using the Fekkai products.

Old Navy Active Wear Sample and Share Review

I was recently chosen by Crowdtap to get a free pair of Old Navy Activewear Compression Pants and a GoDry Top.  I was also given another coupon, so I could bring a friend along with me!  I went yesterday with my mom and we both had a blast.  It was a fun experience and we both love our new workout outfits.  If you've seen the new commercials for Old Navy's Activewear then you know what I'm talking about.  There Compression Pants are super comfortable and the GoDry tops are great for when you are working up a sweat.  I actually like wearing mine for running errands too.  I have never been too fond of wearing activewear for anything other than working out, but Old Navy's Activewear is stylish and comfy.  The best part is that the Compression Pants seem to suck everything in.  I also love my Go Dry tank because it has a built in sports  type bra in it.

My mom and I both chose the same crop style Compression pants.  I chose a Go Dry tank and she chose a long sleeve hooded Go Dry top. All the styles are great for workouts or just wearing for comfort.

This was one of the outfits I tried on.

I've actually posted some pictures I had my husband take while I was working out in my Activewear from Old Navy.  My new Old Navy workout outfit actually made me feel confident enough to post pictures of this on here!

This was the outfit I decided on.

What Activewear outfit would you choose from Old Navy?

If you are interested in joining Crowdtap and possibly getting to try awesome products like this you can sign up and find out more!

All opinions are 100% my own.  I did receive a coupon for myself and 1 other person for a free pair of Compression Pants and a GoDry top.

Another Great Meal Using Lawry's Seasoned Salt!

I am currently part of the Lawry's bzzcampaign and received a number of Lawry's products compliments of bzzagent.com.  You can see in my previous posts the other products that I have reviewed so far.

A few nights ago I put some boneless loin pork chops on the grill and they came out so good.  The entire house inhaled them.  I just seasoned them with the Lawry's Seasoned Salt, a little pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.  They were so good and it was super easy.  My son and husband are very picky and don't like any sauce on their pork chops, so I prepared them this way.  Below is a picture of them.

Review of "It is Dangerous to be Right When the Government is Wrong" by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano

While reading, "It's Dangerous to be Right When the Government is Wrong," I was surprised to find out how much my own personal points of view seemed to be more along the lines of natural law.  There were many instances, in the book, in which you could see the wrong the government had done and the difference between what freedom is and what government tends to do.  It also changed the way I view the meaning of certain words.  Such as property and it's relation to the person as well as physical property.

I found this book an interesting and quite disturbing read in some ways, because in very few of the cases was there ever an acceptable reason to have not have admitted wrong doing to the individual.  This was definitely a compelling read and I found it to be more interesting than fiction and almost hoped it was fiction.  I would recommend this book to anyone who really wants to know where they stand about what they believe in in this country.  This will help them know the difference between freedom and what we actually have.

All opinions are 100% my own (as always.)  I did receive this book compliments of BookSneeze.

Bissell Stomp N Go Review

I am a busy mom and I know that there are definitely times where I need a quick way to clean up carpet messes.  I will say that my carpet steam cleaner does the job, but it isn't convenient to pull it out every time someone spills on the carpet.  I have a 4 and 6 year old, so it isn't often that a week goes by where something isn't spilled on my carpet.  It just happens.

This is how you use the pad

I was selected to host a party compliments of Bissell and Mom Central to try out the Bissell Stomp N Go Pads.  I hosted a party with a few of my mommy friends to try these out.  We tried the pads on some carpet squares that had dried grape juice on them.  You take the pad out of the package, place it on the stain, and then step on the pad.  That is exactly what we did.  Within a few minutes you could see the grape juice being absorbed by the pad.  The photos I've included below are only after the pad sitting on the stain for 30 minutes.  I personally would allow the pad to sit longer for a set in stain like this.  You can allow the pad to sit for up to 24 hours.

We were all impressed with how this lifted the stain out of the carpet.  We were all thrilled with the fact that it removed the stain without having to scrub the carpet!  The mom's at my party and myself thought it was really neat that the Bissell Stomp N Go Pads worked so well and were so simple because the pad is all you need to do the job.  We were all in agreement that this is a product that will help keep our carpets cleaner, but make our lives easier too.

Before

This is after we used Bissell Stomp N Go Cleaning Pad
Note:  I only let this sit on the carpet 30 minutes

If you are interested in purchasing these they are available at Kmart and Walmart for $4.99.  They are a great product to have around if you have kids and/or pets!

Oven Roasted Chicken with Lawry's Seasoned Salt

I recently joined a bzz campaign from bzzagent for Lawry's  I was already familiar with many of their products.  My bzz kit came with some seasoning mixes for different dishes (Southwest Chicken, Chicken Marsala, and Tacos.)  I've already used the Chicken Marsala seasoning packet and it was very good.  I also used the Taco Seasoning and love it.  We are big on tacos in our house.  We have tacos once a week in our house.  It's a family favorite.  I like that the Lawry's Taco Seasoning I received had a great flavor, but wasn't too salty.  I also received an apron and some of Lawry's Seasoned Salt.  We are already of fan of this in our house.  I make a whole roasted chicken last night and used the Lawry's Seasoned Salt on the chicken.  The chicken was excellent and had a great flavor.  It wasn't overly salty, but it had great flavor.  I'm going to share with you how I used this to roast my chicken.

I cleaned my 4.5 lb chicken and then placed in in a baking pan.  I rubbed the outside of the chicken with about 2 TB of olive oil.  I lightly sprinkled my chicken on all sides with Lawry's Seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.  Don't forget to season inside the cavity.  You want it seasoned, but not overly seasoned!  I also placed a piece of carrot and a slice of onion inside the cavity.  I roasted my chicken at 350 degrees for about 1 hour 45 minutes.  Note:  I suggest using a meat thermometer because depending on the size of your chicken you will have to adjust your time.

I would recommend Lawry's Seasoned Salt to season all types of meats.  It really gave my chicken a great flavor.

I received the above products compliments of bzzagent.  All opinions are completely my own.

Burt's Bees Skin Solutions for Sensitive Skin Review

I received the Burt's Bees Sensitive skin moisturizer and cleanser 2 days ago compliments of bzzagent and started using it immediately.

I will first give you some background about my skin in order for you to understand my situation a bit better.  I have severely sensitive skin.  I had previously had to stop using the skincare products I was using and visit a dermatologist because my skin got so irritated from a different product that was labeled "hypoallergenic."  So, with the issues I've had with certain products (even ones labeled hypoallergenic) I have to be very careful with what I use on my skin.

I was very happy to see that the Burt's Bees Sensitive skincare products are made with 99% all natural ingredients.  I was interested to see how this would be different on my face rather than just a product that was labeled "hypoallergenic."  The product contains rice extract, aloe, eyebright and white genepi.  The neatest thing I found is that this line of Burt's Bees has cotton extract in it.

I have used the Burt's Bees Senstive daily moisturizing cream and cleanser now about 6 times and had no irritation from it.  I will actually say that, for the first time in awhile, my skin feels smoother and softer.  The products provide my skin with the perfect amount of moisture without making it all oily.  I think that this is a product I'm going to stick with for awhile, since I've had such a hard time finding skincare products that don't irritate my skin or cause them to break out.  I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from sensitive skin and really has a hard time finding a product that doesn't irritate them.

I received the Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin Products compliments of bzzagent in return for my honest review.  All opinions are completely my own as always.
