I am always looking for holiday gifts that are educational too.  I think it is great when you can find something that a child gets excited about, but also learns too.  I was recently introduced to Redan Publishing Inc.  This is a company that offers magazines for young readers.  They are themed with characters that they love.  The magazines are fun for them to read, but they also are loaded with fun activities.  My 8 year old sat down with these magazines for hours and enjoyed doing the activities throughout them.  The neat part is that while your child is having fun they are also reading.  I love it!

DUAL CROSS BUILDING SET K'NEX - Review

My 10 year old son loves to build with K'NEX.  He was really excited when the Dual Cross Building Set arrived.  This is a great toy that keeps your child busy building.  The neat part about this set is that they can play with it for hours after the set is built.  The Dual Cross Building Set is a kit that provides your child with all the pieces they need to create 6 different blasters.  

My son enjoyed building this set, and he was able to build it completely on his own.  My 10 year old found the instructions to be very easy to follow.  Your child can choose which blaster they want to create.  My son loves to run around with his blaster and play pretend with it.  The neat part about this set is that your child can also take the blaster apart and make a different one from the instructions provided.  The set also includes foam darts, so your child is ready to play as soon as they finish building.

We absolutely love K'NEX toys.  They keep my 8 and 10 year old busy for hours.  Do you have a child that loves to build and create?  K'NEX make a great holiday gift.  I love that these toys help your child learn how to follow simple instructions while they play too.  Did you know that K'NEX has a line of sets created with girls in mind?  This is also a great way to inspire girls that typically don't like to play with building toys to do so.  

My daughter has fallen in love with these new K'NEX sets.  The colors in the sets are geared more towards girls too.  This is so much fun.  The themes of the sets really appeal towards girls also.  We received the Home Designer Building Set from K'NEX.  My daughter will sit down for hours and play with this.  It was simple enough for her to create on her own.  She can now continue to play with it now that the set is completed too.  This set is part of the Mighty Makers line that features Brianna and  Sophia.

Nitro Circus Las Vegas - November 21, 2015 Review

I was so excited when I found out that I would be doing a review for the Nitro Circus show in Vegas.  I had been hearing the ads for the show on the radio, and was really intrigued to learn more about what this show was all about.  What is Nitro Circus?  This is a show for those of you that love excitement.  This is full of it!  It is loud, and so much fun.  Nitro Circus is not a typical circus.  This is an extreme action sports circus.  It really is insane.  This show is for those of you that love extreme sports, skateboarding, bikes, and more.  There are even some amazing surprises throughout the show.  You never know what you will actually see when you go.

You will be sure to see tons of tricks.  These are not just your basic tricks either.  These are stunts that are extreme.  The tricks are done on bikes, skateboards, in bathtubs, rocking horses, kayaks, scooters, and much more.  The show has you sitting at the edge of your seat, and I was truly eager to see what was going to happen next.

This show is great for adults, but my 8 and 10 year old enjoyed it too.  I will tell you that the show is quite loud, but so much fun.  We enjoyed cheering along with the rest of the crowd.  My kids loved the noise, but if your child is sensitive to noise you might want to bring them a pair of ear plugs.  

I suggest checking out the Nitro Circus the next time it comes to a town near you.  You truly are in for an extreme night!

The Time Chamber by Daria Song

Do you love to color?  I honestly do not think coloring has an age limit.  I sit and color with my almost 9 year old all the time.  We have become addicted to these fancy coloring books with beautiful and intricate designs.  There is something relaxing about sitting and coloring.  The Time Chamber is a beautiful coloring book for older children, and adults.  This is definitely not your typical childish coloring book.

This is a beautiful book that is a magical story, and also a coloring book.  The pages are made of thick paper, so you can use marker.  I love to use colored pencils that are nice and sharp, so that I can color all the tiny intricate designs.  This is a book that is great to keep on your coffee table, and just pick up when you want to relax and color.  The book is loaded with double sides pages of all kinds of pictures to color.  The pictures range from designs to animals.  

This book would make an amazing holiday gift.  Remember, coloring isn't just for kids.  This book is great if you love art, and love to create it.

Are you ever looking for ways to teach your children good morals and values?  This is something I always think is so important to teach children from a very young age.  I recently received a copy of the Believe Storybook - Think, Act, Be Like Jesus.  This is a wonderful book for your children to learn how to be a good person.  I would suggest this book for children 6 and up.  They may not be able to read it at that age on their own, but this is a great book to read together as a family.

This book teaches your child how to be more like Jesus.  I think we all want our children to grow up to be good people.  This book features 60 different stories from both the old testament and the new testament.  This book is written on a level that really is great for young kids.  The book includes illustrations.  I think that really helps them visualize things, but keeps them entertained while they are reading.

Do you know someone that loves owls?  They truly are fascinating creatures.  We recently received Owls- Our Most Charming Bird by Matt Sewell.  This is a wonderful book if you are an owl lover, or it makes a great gift if you know someone that loves owls.  This makes a really cute holiday gift too.  This beautifully hardbound book is loaded with information all about owls.  The book is illustrated with drawings that are adorable.  This is a fun book to keep on your coffee table.

I was personally amazed with all the information that was in this book.  My 8 and 10 year old enjoyed reading the book too.  This book contains information about a variety of different owl species.  The book includes a cute drawing of each owl too.  

My kids and I enjoyed learning about all the owls featured in this book.  I didn't even know that some of these existed.  Did you know that there is a Eurasian Pygmy Owl?  This is a bushy eyebrowed owl.  There is even an owl called the Long-Whiskered Owlet.  This is a smaller sized owl, and it is absolutely adorable with his wild eyebrows.  These are just a few of the neat owls you will learn about in this book.

We recently received a copy of Prayers that Changed History by Tricia Goyer.  This truly is an interesting read.  This is a book geared towards older children and teens.  This is a unique book that features events in history that were influenced by prayers.  These stories are a deeper explanation of events from history.  The idea behind the book explains how events in history would have been different if prayer was not involved.  

Tricia Goyer is a best selling author.  This book explains 25 different historical events.  The book also explains the prayer that changed their lives, and history.  The book teaches the historical event, and then it is followed by something in the bible that can be linked to the event.  This book is a great read for children, teens, and adults.  We have enjoyed reading the different stories as a family.
