Doodletopia: Manga by Christopher Hart

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Do you love art, and drawing.  My 9 year old is always wanting to learn how to draw new things, or do new crafts.  We recently received a copy of Doodletopia:  Manga by Christopher Hart.  She took the book immediately and started learning how to draw Manga.  This book isn't just for kids.  Are you an adult, and want to learn how to draw?  That is definitely me.  I need step by step instructions to be able to draw anything.  This book provides just that.  It also gives you partial pictures to finish.  This makes it really easy to visualize just what you should be drawing and where to put certain lines.

This is a great book to buy for yourself, for a child, or even someone that you know that is really into art.  I was impressed with how simple the instructions were.  My 9 year old was able to follow the simple drawing instructions with absolutely no assistance from an adult.  The book helps you create fun Manga, or anime style characters that are so much fun.  My daughter and I were truly impressed with this book.

Do you know someone that might be interested in this book?

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Ginny Louise and the School Field Day
My kids always get so excited when field day comes up at the end of the school year.  This book is all about field day.  It is great for young children that might not know much about field day.  This books follows Ginny Louise on field day!  This book touches on something that I truly find important to teach young children.  This book talks about how some of her school mates aren't playing fair.  This is something I personally have had to explain to my children when they get upset about this issue.  This book does a great job of making the entire situation funny.

Steamboat School
This illustrated story book is written by Deborah Hopkinson and illustrated by Ron Husband.  I love the retro style illustrations in this book.  this book is also perfect for young readers just learning how to read.  This book is a book based on true events.  This book also teaches something very important.  It is a great way to teach young children about discrimination.  The book follows a teacher and his students who refuse to accept discrimination.

The Charcuterie Shack Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Are you a foodie, and do you love trying new foods?  Do you know a foodie that you are looking for the perfect gift for?  The Charcuterie Shack is a great place to find great items for your favorite foodie.  You can even treat yourself to their products.  We fell in love with their tasty cured meats.

We received a delicious box of their items to try.  They hand pick everything, so you aren't having to search around for the best of the best.  The hard work is already done.  You simply open the box and enjoy your cured meats.  They offer both a mild package, and a hot variety.  I chose mild.  This box comes with Serrano Ham, Chorizo, and a Fuet Ring.  The Chorizo is a bit spicy, but not overly hot.  It has a great flavor.  The Fuet Ring is more like a dry salame.  The Serrano Ham is a cured ham that is sliced very thin.

The products from Charcuterie Shack are also great for entertaining.  They are an easy way to create a simple appetizer plate.  You can serve these cured meats with cheeses, and fresh bread or crackers.  How would you use these cured meats?

You can learn more about all the products that The Charcuterie Shack has to offer by visiting their website.
