Balance Bike From Tykes Bykes Review and Giveaway 4/14 CLOSED

We have tried a number of different regular bikes for our 5 and 7 year old and they seem to grow out of them so quickly.  When I found out about the balance bikes from Tykes Bykes I was really interested.  I thought that this would be great for both my kids.  It makes it really easy for young children because they don't have to pedal.  They can still work on learning how to balance the bike, but there's no need for training wheels.  Balance bikes are great for helping your child learn to develop their motor skills too.   If you aren't familiar with a balance bike then I will explain a little.  A balance bike has no pedals.  The child then uses their feet to push themselves and move themselves along.

I really like the idea that with a Tyke Byke that your child can learn to balance from the start.  Even really young children will slowly start to learn how to balance the bike this way.  That is the key for your child to be able to ride a bike anyway.  My 7 year old got on it and loved it.  There was no frustration which is always a plus.

We received the 14 inch model to review from Tykes Bykes.  It  was very simple to put together.  My husband had it assembled in about 30 minutes.  This size bike is ideal for a 5 to 7 year old child.  My daughter is 5 and she could ride it too if I adjusted it to her height.  This model weighs less than 10 lbs.  That is really ideal for a young child.  If you have a bike that is too heavy for the child to maneuver then it is too complicated for them.  I think it's also great because your child can always put their feet down if they feel unsure.  I also love that there is a hand break.

Tykes Bykes also offers a smaller balance bike that is a 12 inch model.  This model is great for younger children from about age 3 to 5.  I can definitely see this being much easier for a child this age to learn to ride than pedaling.

Both models are really neat looking.  We took ours to the park yesterday.  Everyone thought my son's bike was too neat.  He even had some kids come up to him and ask him about it because they liked it.

A Tyke Byke is a great way to get your child outside and exercising.  My son wants to ride his every single chance he gets.  He's truly going to be enjoying this on Spring Break next week.

You can purchase your own Tyke Byke from their online store.  These are very reasonably priced and they even have some models on sale and clearance. I honestly think that they are a good price since this bike can be adjusted and will grow with your child.

You can connect with Tykes Bykes on Facebook.
