Melissa's Produce Review

Melissa's offers a wonderful selection of fresh and dry packaged produce products.  They offer everything from apples to fresh chile peppers.  You can find many of their products in grocery stores.  You can also purchase their products directly from the Melissa's website.  Melissa's offers a great variety of unique product as well.  I personally love trying new fruits and veggies.  I love that Melissa's has a really nice recipe section on their website.  This is great for people that want to try new foods, but don't know how to cook them.  

I received a box with a selection of Melissa's products.  I was really excited to try out the items that came.  I received a Crystallized Ginger, Sweetened Dried Cranberries, Italian Pine Nuts, Crepes, Shallots, Baby Dutch Yellow Potatoes and Baby Ruby Gold Potatoes.    My daughter loves trying new foods.  She saw the pine nuts and insisted that they be eaten right out of the bag.  I love putting these on salads too.  I plan on using the rest of the pine nuts (that she left me) on a salad along with the dried cranberries.  I love ginger and Melissa's Crystallized Ginger is very good.  It has a very intense flavor that I love.  It tastes super fresh.  The shallots were excellent.  My daughter loves grilled onions, so I put these on the grill with a little bit of olive oil.  They have such a wonderful flavor.  They aren't as strong as a regular onion.  The crepes are excellent too.  They are light and taste just like homemade.  They are actually better because you don't have to make them yourself!  I have never had much luck with making crepes from scratch, so these are perfect for me.  Lastly, I had to grill the baby potatoes.  Everyone loved them.  I tossed them in some olive oil, garlic and salt and they were very good!  

What would you want to try that Melissa's offers?  They offer some amazing looking gift baskets too!  This would be a fun gift for the holidays.  I am always looking for food gifts that are on the healthier side and this would be perfect.
