Alamos Winery New Releases Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Alamos Wines are Argentinian wines.  These wines are new to me and I was really excited to try them out.  Alamos prides themselves in creating flavorful wines that are very drinkable.  They have done an excellent job with this too!  They even hand harvest all of their grapes.  The wines are made in Mendoza.  These are unique and wonderful wines.  I suggest giving them a try if you want something a little bit different.

Alamos 2012 Torrontes
This was the first time that I have tried this variety of wine.  This is a light crisp white wine and it has just a hint of sweetness.  The grapes used in this wine are Torrontes grapes.  The wine is said to have floral flavors.  I think it would be excellent paired with chicken or pork.  This is a really nice light wine that is easy to drink.

Alamos 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a very full bodied and robust dry red wine.  I really enjoyed this one.  The wine itself is aged in oak and it gives it a nice flavor.  The grapes all come from the Mendoza region.  The wine is made with Cabernet grapes.  This is a really nice wine that pairs well with red meat.  I think it's perfect to accompany a grilled steak.

Alamos 2011 Seleccion Malbec
This is also a very rich red wine.  It's a dry red and it's also from the Mendoza region.  I am very fond of a good Malbec.  This one is excellent.  It's full of amazing flavors.  It is made with Malbec grapes.  This wine is a bit spicy.  I would pair it with red meat as well.  It would also be great to drink with dishes that have some spice to them.

All of these wines retail for about $20 a bottle.
