Village Harvest Rice Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Village Harvest is a company that offers rice and whole grains.  They go out of their way to offer rice that comes directly the places that they are actually grown.  Their products come from the countries where they originated from.  What is the difference?  Their products taste exactly the way they should.  Their parent company has been in the business since 1892.  They are now based in San Francisco.

Village Harvest offers a great selection of rice and grains.  They offer dry grains that you can prepare on your own, but they also offer frozen rice and grains too.  The frozen variety is perfect if you want a quick and healthy side dish.  I received some of their dry rice products and I fell in love with them.  We eat rice at least three or four times a week.  I like it because it is a healthy side dish and easy to prepare.  What is your favorite kind of rice?

Village Harvest Basmati Rice
Basmati Rice is one of my favorite varieties, but Village Harvest makes it hard to pick just one favorite.  This is an aromatic rice that is very flavorful.  You really do not need to add much to it when you eat it.  The flavors of the rice compliment itself.  This is an aged rice.  It comes from the foothills of the Himalayas too.  It is an authentic Indian style rice.  It is easy to cook.  I cook it in my rice cooker and it comes out perfect.  The rice comes out soft and fluffy when done.  It is a longer grain rice.

Village Harvest Jasmine Rice
I had mentioned that Village Harvest made it hard to choose a favorite type of rice, and their Jasmine rice also impressed me.  This is a long grain rice that is fragrant.  It comes from Thailand.  It is their best grade rice.  You truly know you are getting a quality product.  The rice also is very easy to cook.  It was very simple to put in my rice cooker.  This rice has an almost sweet undertone.

Village Harvest Arborio Rice
I have been intrigued by Arborio rice.  This is an Italian rice that Village Harvest offers.  This is a shorter grain rice that is perfect for risotto.  It is flavorful and one of my new favorites.  I will be incorporating this into my cooking more because I enjoyed it so much.  This Northern Italian rice is the highest grade Arborio rice available.  The cooking instructions suggested to include olive oil, onion and broth while cooking.  This makes the perfect side dish with things like grilled chicken.  What would you serve it with?

These are just some of the wonderful rice products that Village Harvest offers.  You can visit their website to learn more about what they offer.  You can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
