Groovy Lab in a Box Giveaway 7/25 #STEMists CLOSED

Disclosure - free sample provided.

What kind of fun educational activities are you doing with your kids this Summer?  I personally love when I find activities that allow my children to learn in a hands on way.  Groovy Lab in a Box is a great way to do this.  The materials and activities in this box are a great way to teach your children new concepts, but with an interactive approach.  What is Groovy Lab in a Box?  This is a box full of great science activities that are delivered to your mailbox each month.

Each Groovy Lab Box incorporates science, technology, engineering, and math.  The boxes are geared towards children 8 years and up.  Each box comes with a lab notebook.  This is perfect for your child to write down and document the process they go through.  The box does not come with super detailed instructions.  You may think that is odd, but the idea behind the box is to have your child think about things and come up with the best way to execute what they want to do.  This really makes them think!

We received a Groovy Lab Box to try out.  My kids really enjoyed this.  They are 7 and 9.  The theme of our box was "Here Comes the Sun."  The challenge in this box was to create a solar balloon, desalination plant, solar oven, and conductivity tester.  The idea was that you needed to create these items because you were shipwrecked on a deserted island.  I love this and my kids really enjoyed thinking about the best ways to create these items.  They used their lab notebook to brainstorm and plan.

You can learn more about Groovy Lab in a Box by visiting their website.  You can also order their educational boxes directly from their website.  You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
