Salad Love - By David Bez - Book Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I have a hard time finding meals that sounds good to eat when the weather starts to warm up.  I live in Vegas and it is already starting to get warm here.  I try and find light and healthy dinner options for my family when it is hot outside.  We love salads.  Salads can get boring though.  That doesn't have to be the case.  David Bez has a really great cook book that is called Salad Love.  This book has 260 recipes for delicious salads!  David Bez is no stranger to salad books either.  He has written Salad Pride too.  I really find it interesting that David Bez is not a chef.  He just really seems to have a passion for food.  You can truly tell by reading the Salad Love book!

This book is a great way to find delicious and easy meals that are perfect for daily use.  The book actually starts off by saying it is not a cookbook.  Why is that?  This is not going to teach you how to cook.  The author explains how salads are more of a combination of different ingredients.  The book also explains how to assemble a salad.  This might sound silly to you, but it explains the right amount of greens, or protein that you would typically add.  I find this helpful.  The book even has a section that is dedicated to dressings.  There are a variety of dressing recipes listed here.  I love how easy they are to make too!  Some of these dressings include Classic Italian, Tomato Pesto, Raw Green Pesto, Truffle, Lemon Zest, and many more.  Which one would you want to try?  I believe what David Bez says "the stage at which a salad comes to life."  I really think a salad is made amazing by the dressing.

The book is broken down into seasons as well.  I personally love salads in the warmer months, but they are great year round.

Summer Salads - some of these include. . .

Chicken, New Potatoes and Cherry Tomatoes

Sun Dried Tomatoes, Corn and Lettuce

Shitake Mushrooms, Red Pepper and Nori

Winter Salads - some of these include . . .

Roasted Chicken, Parsnip and Red Onion

Kale, Apple and Dried Apricots

Barley, Roasted Sweet Potato and Edamame

I love how easy all of the salads from David Bez's Salad Love book are.  They are tasty meals that are perfect for a delicious meal.  The salads are quick to put on the table when you have a family that is hungry.  The book is really a great resource.  It contains beautiful photos of the salads.  This is a nice way to see them put together.
