Salsas and Moles by Deborah Schneider

Disclosure - free sample provided.

When the warm weather approaches I am always looking to incorporate lots of fresh ingredients into my meals.  We are huge fans of Mexican food in my house.  Do you love salsa?  I love it for dipping with chips, or my favorite Mexican meal.  Salsa is one of my favorite alternatives to serving a typical sour cream based dip at a barbecue too.  I love that you don't have to worry about it spoiling as quickly.  Salsas and Moles by Deborah Schneider is a great cookbook that is loaded with great salsa recipes that are perfect for dipping, or topping your favorite Mexican style meal.  Do you have a favorite kind of salsa?  I personally love my salsa super hot!

Salsa and Moles by Debora Schneider is a book with fresh and authentic recipes.  It has recipes for Pico de Gallo, Mole Poblano, Chimichurri, Guacamole, and much more.  The book is broken down into sections.  It includes table salsas, hot salsa, mole and enchilada sauces, salsas for tacos, and chunky salsas and botanas.  This book is perfect if you are new to making salsas.  The recipes are simple and easy to follow.  I love that they can be put on the table quick!

I fell in love with some of the recipes in the book.  I can't wait to try more of them too.  The Salsa Verde is a cooked tomato salsa with cilantro and jalepeno.  This is a flavorful salsa that has a fresh taste.  It is simple to make too!  The Ghost Chile Salsa is a salsa for those that love extreme heat!  This is my kind of salsa.  This is a black colored salsa.  It is unique looking.  It is made with blackened chipotle peppers.  These are just some of the tasty salsa recipes in this book.

The book also explains about salsas.  I had no idea that certain salsas actually are created for a specific use.  Salsas are not just meant to be eaten with chips.  There are salsas that are used to add flavor to food at the end.  I thought it was so neat to find out that salsas are actually the "heart of the cuisine" in Mexico.  Salsa really does add so much to any meal.  I really like that the book breaks down the fats about chiles too.  It explains the heat level, but also the actual look of the chile.  This is great because then  you know what kind of chiles to buy for your desired heat level.  It also gives some helpful tips on working with chiles.
