Scholastic Books - Summer Reading - Dragon Masters

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I cannot believe that Summer Break will be here before I know it.  I like to make sure that I have plenty of books in the house for my children to read.  I love when they enjoy curling up with a good book.  This is always a great quiet activity.  It is also a great way to help your child develop their reading skills.  Scholastic Books offers a great selection of books for Summer Break.  They offer books for children of all ages, and all reading levels.

My 8 year old really loves the books in their Branches line.  These are simple chapter books.  We received the first three books in the Dragon Masters series.  These are written by Tracey West.  They are written to appeal to grades 1-3, but they are written at a 2nd grade reading level.

Dragon Masters - Rise of the Earth Dragon is the first book in this series.  This book is about Drake and how he never thought that dragons were real.  Drake then learns that they are real, and he becomes a Dragon Master.  Dragon Masters - Saving the Sun Dragon is the second book in the Dragon Masters series.  This book is about Ana, Rori, Bo, and Drake training the dragons.  They need to help Ana's dragon because it is sick.  The third book in this series is the Secret of the Water Dragon.  This mysterious story is about someone that is trying to steal the Dragon Stone.

More about the Dragon Masters Series. . .
My 8 year old really enjoys these books.  She reads them on her own without frustration.  The books include simple text.  I really like that they also include pictures throughout the pages.  This makes reading fun!

You can learn more about this series and all of the books that Scholastic has to offer by visiting their website.
