School Supply Shopping - BIC Review

When I think of BIC products the first thing that comes to mind is that they are always great quality.  I have been school supply shopping for my 8 and 10 year old, and the most important thing is great quality products that are going to last.  BIC has some really neat new products that they are offering this back to school season.  They are not just great quality, but they are also fun!

BIC offers a variety of pencil options.  They now offer Xtra-fun pencils.  These are #2 pencils that are very durable.  They even have break resistant lead.  They are even non toxic.  The pencils are fun colors on the outside, but write with a regular color.  These are perfect for your child's pencil pouch.  Bic also offers Xtra-Craze #2 mechanical pencils.  These come in colorful and bright designs.  These are also headed right into my kids pencil pouches.  My son loves these pencils because his writing looks so much neater when he writes with a good quality mechanical pencil like this.

The BIC Atlantis is an ultra comfort pen.  It has a soft grip that is comfortable to hold.  It writes smoothly, and it is a nice weight.  This has a retractable ball too.  BIC has come out with something that I am amazed with.  They offer brite liner erasable highlighters.  This is a great way to fix highlighs easily.  One end of the highlighter has bright colored ink, and the other end erases.  BIC is also offering a Cristal Stylus + Pen.  This looks similar to regular BIC pens, but the other end is a stylus.  This is a great pen/stylus to keep in your purse.  It can be used on tablets and smart phones.

Last year BIC partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org.  They provided writing instruments to children in need in the classroom.  BIC is also asking people to sign a pledge to Fight for Your Write.  They want to raise awareness about the importance of writing.  This truly is an important life long skill.

Disney Books - Review

My kids always get so excited when we get books from Disney to review.  They can't wait to open the package.  Disney offers a huge selection of books for children of all ages.  They offer picture books, early readers, board books, chapter books, and more.  Their books make reading so much fun because they feature great Disney characters.

Palace Pets - Pumpkin is a book about the puppy for Cinderella.  This is a touch and feel book.  The pages have different textures throughout the pages that your child can feel.  This really is a hands on way to get your child into reading.  This book is beautifully illustrated.  It has a handle, so your little one can carry it around with them wherever they want.  This is a great Fall themed book that would make a great gift for back to school, Halloween, or just because!  This book will retail for about $9.99.  

Disney Tails - Figaro's Halloween Surprise is an adorable board book.  This is great for pre-schoolers or pre-k level readers.  This is another touch and feel book.  The front of the book is adorable and it features a fuzzy Figaro on it.  This book also has different textures that your child can use to touch, and learn while you are reading.  This Fall themed book is about Halloween.  This book will retail for $6.99.  This is a great Halloween treat for your child instead of the traditional sweet treat.

Doc McStuffins - A Dragon's Best Friend is a Disney Junior Classic Tale.  This book is really neat because it is a picture book, and it is written perfectly for early readers.  The pages have colorful illustrations.  They also have simple text that isn't frustrating.  This is a fun story about a little fuzzball.  The fuzzball decides his best friend is a dragon.  This book will retail for $8.99.

5 Minute Stories - Frozen is a really great book to add to your child's book collection.  We are in love with the 5 Minute Story books from Disney.  These are books that are loaded with short stories.  This particular one is all about all of your favorite Frozen characters.  This is a great book if your child loves Frozen.  This book includes stories like A Royal Sleepover, The Frozen Monster, Across the Sea, and many more!  This beautifully illustrated book will retail for $12.99.

Disney Descendants Book Review

Is your child excited about the Descendants movie that will be premiering on Disney Channel at the end of July?  This looks like a movie that my 8 and 10 year old will love.  There are a number of great books that Disney is releasing featuring the great characters from the Descendants movie too.  This is a great way to get your child excited about reading if this is a movie that they are interested in.  

The Descendants:  Junior Novel will be available for purchase on July 14th.  This book features the characters from the movie.  Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos are related to horrible villians.  They have chance to get away from the evil and go to a preparatory school.  This is where the kids that are good go.  This book is about whether they choose to stay with evil, or change.  

Mal's Diary is another great Descendants book.  I love how this book is put together.  It really is fun, and my 8 year old daughter loved reading it.  This book looks just like a real diary.  It features Mal on the front, and it even opens up just like a real diary.  The pages of this book are filled with Mal's personal writings, notes, doodles, and much more.  It really gives you a great look at her character.

Mal's Spell Book is another neat book.  This book was something my daughter was intrigued by.  The book actually belonged to Maleficent, and then it was handed down to Mal.  This is an information packed read that has a great look inside Mal's mind.  The book is beautifully put together.  It really looks like a handwritten spell book.
