Scholastic Books and Back to School!

Disclosure - free sample provided.

My 8 and 10 year old will be going back to school shortly.  When do your children go back to school?  I am currently trying to get our home library of books in order, so that my children have a nice selection of books to choose from when they are reading.  Scholastic has a great selection of books to choose from.  They offer picture books, chapter books, novels, and more.  I love to add books to our library from Scholastic because my children always love them.  I always add new things as their reading level increases too.  We received a great selection of books from Scholastic that my kids are so excited about.  My kids take books with them to school to read too during free reading time.  I know these are going to be perfect to put in their backpack.

The Pokemon Deluxe Essential Handbook is a book that my 10 year old was so excited to start reading.  This is a great book loaded with facts about Pokemon.  The book features more than 700 Pokemon in it too.  The book also has great color pictures throughout it.  This makes it really simple for your child to identify what each Pokemon character looks like.  The book features Pokemon from every region.  It has Fairy-type Pokemon, Legendary Pokemon, Mega Evolved Pokemon, and much more.  This is a great guide for any child that is a huge Pokemon fan!

Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them is a great book for older children.  This book is kind of what I would call a spin off from the Harry Potter series.  The book is part of Harry Potter's reading text in the Philosopher's Stone.  This book is loaded with information on Magical Beasts.  The book goes beyond that though. This is actually supposed to be Harry's copy of the book.  You will see handwritten text throughout the book, and notes.  The notes are from Harry, and his friends.  This really makes the book fun.

The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig was a big hit with my 8 year old.  She really enjoyed reading this book.  The book incorporates silly humor that really helps grab your child's attention.  It made my daughter want to continue to read on and on.  The book is written in a diary format.  Pig lives on a farm, but he has a problem.  There are evil chickens.  Pig and Duck come up with a plan to solve the problem.

Race the Wild - Great Reef Games is a simple chapter book.  This book is geared towards children in 2nd through 4th grade.  The book is written at a 4th grade reading level.  This is the 2nd book in this series.  This book is an interesting read about underwater exploring, and they set out to battle on the Great Barrier Reef.  This is a book that teaches about determination.  The book is not just your typical chapter book.  We really enjoyed that it incorporated some pictures throughout it too.

The Baby-Sitters Club - Kristy's Great Idea is a graphic novel from the best selling series.  I read the Babby-Sitters Club series when I was younger.  I was excited for my daughter to red this book.  This takes the book, and turns it into something your child can visualize.  The book is loaded with great colorful pictures.  My daughter really enjoyed it.  This book is about Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia and Stacey.  It is all about their babysitting adventures.

These are just some of the great Scholastic books that you can add to your library for back to school season.  You can visit their website to learn more about all of the books that they offer.
