Disclosure - free sample provided.

I am always looking for gifts for my 9 and 11 year old that are not just toys.  What kind of things do you give children besides toys?  We love books.  This is a great gift for a child.  It makes a great gift for under the tree or even in your child's stocking.  Disney offers a huge assortment of books that would make excellent holiday gifts.

Moana

The Story of Moana - A Tale of Courage and Adventure
This is a beautiful chapter style book for more advanced readers.  The hard bound chapter book features a picture of Moana on the front.  This is a great book for older children that love Moana.  The book gets into the story of Moana's life.  It talks about the village where she is from.  The story follows Moana when she has to leave the island she lives on.

This is a coloring book filled with pages that your child will love.  This is not your typical coloring book.  The pages feature beautiful designs and drawings.  It is for an older child that is able to color intricate designs.  This is a great coloring book for hours of fun.  My 9 year old daughter really enjoys sitting and coloring in this beautiful book.

This book is a great book choice for younger children that are just starting to read.  The book isn't too lengthy, and is perfect for a bedtime story.  The book includes a CD that has character voices and sound effects.  It makes it fun for children to listen to while they are reading.  The book is loaded with colorful pictures.  This book also follows Moana as she goes on her adventure.

Moana and the Ocean is another book featuring beautiful Moana.  This is also the perfect level for young readers around 3 to 5 years of age.  The book is also illustrated beautifully.  The book is all about Moana, but it is told from the point of view of the ocean.

Elena

This book give readers a look into the world of Princess Elena.  I was really impressed with the colorful cover on this book.  This is a storybook geared towards young readers.  This is a cute story and it is all about Princess Elena being locked in an amulet.  Sofia then tries to help her out.  This book is geared towards children 3 to 5 years of age.

This is absolutely perfect for the Elena fan, and it is perfect for Christmas.  This book is about Elena's favorite time of year.  I love that my child was able to learn about how other cultures celebrate Christmas.  It is a neat way to teach your child about how different cultures have different traditions.  This is a great book to put under the tree, or in your child's stocking.  It would even be a great little gift for Christmas Eve.

This book is geared towards young toddlers and pre-school aged children. This is a lift the flap book.  It is perfect for little hands, and easy for them to lift the tabs.  The pages feature fun characters that you get to meet throughout the book.  The book contains over 100 lift the flaps.  I have always found that books like this are a fun way to get your child more interested in what you are reading to them.

Whisker Haven

This is another Read-Along Storybook and CD.  The CD also features the voices of the characters and sound effects.  The book features the adorable characters of Whisker Haven.  You will follow the story that includes Treasure, Petite, Dreamy, and more.   The book is a holiday book that is all about helping out to deliver gifts for the holidays in time.

Whisker Haven even has the most adorable little book sets that would be perfect for the holidays.  These books come with a storybook, toy, and puzzle.  Your child can play while you read to them.  There are 3 of these in the series.  These are available for about $16.50, and make a fun little gift for this holiday season.

Frozen

This is a chapter style book that is written in a journal style format.  The book is a cute notebook that tells their adventure.  This book has pages written by Elsa, Kristoff, and Anna.  The pages are not typed, but they are handwritten.  Their are also illustrations throughout.  This is a popular style book, and my kids always enjoy reading books that are written in a diary style format.  The pictures really do help keep young readers interested too.

This book is the ultimate book for the ultimate Frozen fan.  This book is a pop up book and it is really a fun way to read with your child.  The pictures in the book really do pop right out at you.  I was impressed with how these pop ups are so detailed.  The author of this book, Matthew Reinhart, really did an excellent job bringing the story to life right in front of you.

Storybooks for Young Readers
The books below are all books geared for young readers.  These are perfect for those just starting to read, and need books with simple text.

This is a storybook written and illustrated by Mo Willems.  Willems has done an excellent job with this book by making it fun to read.  The book uses rhyming and silly words to make the book interesting.  Nanette sets off to get a baguette from the baker Juliette.  This is one that  your child will want to read over and over again.

This picture book is written by Ji-li Jiang.  It is illustrated by Julie Downing.  I am very impressed by all of the beautiful art in this book.  The story itself is about Lotus who cannot speak.  She lost her voice from an illness.  Lotus finds a bird that she then names Feather.  The book follows the story of Lotus and Feather.  This really is a wonderful story.

The Happiest Book Ever
This picture book is by the always happy people.  It really did put a smile on my face, and I hope it will do the same for your child.  The book is uplifting and a great way to put anyone in a great mood.  The book is full of happy thoughts.  It is a fun way to get your child to think in a positive manner too!

A Very Fluffy Kitty - Papillon
I love the idea behind this book.  The author, A.N. Kang wrote this book because she was inspired by her own kitty.  The pictures in this book really help little ones stay interested in the adorable story.  The silly book is about a kitty so fluffy that he floats.  I love it!

The Friend Ship
This storybook is about a hedgehog that is lonely.  He imagines a ship with lots of friends.  The hedgehog meets many other lonely animals on the way that join them.  This book is great if your child loves to use their imagination.

Hotel Bruce
Bruce is extremely cranky in this book.  The book is about his migration, and how he finds a variety of animals that have taken over his den.  This book teaches children a great lesson on how to control themselves when they are grumpy.

These are just some of the fabulous books you will find that Disney has to offer for the holidays.  You can visit their website to learn more or order them.
