RiceSelect Review and Giveaway 4/27 CLOSED

We eat a whole lot of rice.  We actually eat it as a side dish at least 3 times a week.  I love it because it's healthy, easy and everyone in my house loves it.  RiceSelect makes a nice selection of different types of rice.  Many of them are grown in the gulf area of Texas.  They offer many varieties that are normally only grown in other countries, but have grown them here.  RiceSelect offers high quality rice that is all natural.  RiceSelect makes a Texmati® rice.  This rice was the first Basmati style rice to grow successfully in the US.

I received 4 different types of rice to sample from RiceSelect.  We loved all of them.  I received the Jasmati, Royal Blend -  Texmati®  White, Brown, Wild and Red, Kasmati, Royal Blend with flaxseed.  We enjoyed sampling them all.

My daughter really loved the Royal Blend that had the Texmati® White, Brown, Wild and Red rice in it.  This rice was very good and it was one of my favorites too.  I didn't add anything to it when I cooked it, but I can definitely see it being really good cooked with broth instead of water and adding some cooked veggies to it too.  I thought the red rice was really neat because I've never seen that or had it before.  This variety of rice was really easy to cook.  You can cook this rice on the stove top, but I had an easy time cooking it in my rice cooker.

The Jasmati was really good too.  I love jasmine rice.  It is a really great aromatic rice.  The Jasmati is grown in the US.  It is a long grain rice.  This rice is fluffy after after it's cooked and doesn't stick together.  My son inhaled this variety.  We all enjoyed it.  This rice can be cooked on the stove top, but I put it in my rice cooker and it was very simple to cook.

The Kasmati Rice was excellent too.  This rice is an Indian style Basmati rice that is grown in Texas.  It's very flavorful.  This is a great rice that gets nice and fluffy after cooking.  It is a long grain rice, so this rice will not stick together either.  This is a great rice to use for dishes where you have a sauce.  This is a dry rice that works really well to absorb sauce.  It is something I'm going to use when I make beef pepper steak.  I think it would work great under the beef and peppers.

We also sampled a Royal Blend with Flaxseed.  This is a great product.  It is not just rice, but also has whole wheat couscous, brown flaxseed, black lentils and Texmati® light brown rice.  This is a great side dish.  It was very flavorful.  I love the couscous in it too!  I was really pleased with how quick this cooked.  It only took about 20 minutes.  I did not cook this one in my rice cooker and did this on the stovetop.

The RiceSelect products I sampled all came in a plastic container.  I love this because it keeps it fresh.  If you are looking to purchase RiceSelect products they are available online or you can find them at many grocery stores.
