Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas Review and Ticket Giveaway 8/5 CLOSED

Disclosure - free sample provided.

We are big fans of Wet 'n' Wild water park in Las Vegas.  We took the kids last Summer, and we all had a blast.  They have a huge variety of different water attractions for all ages.  Wet 'n' Wild is a great place to cool off from the hot Summer here in Vegas.  Have you been to Wet 'n' Wild?  What is your favorite thing to do there?

Wet 'n' Wild has a great area for young children.  They have a huge area dedicated to small children.  This is perfect for toddlers, but even kids older than that.  This are has smaller slides that are great for children that aren't fond of the bigger slides.  My 8 and 10 year old even enjoy playing in this area.

Wet 'n' Wild also has the Colorado Cooler.  This is a great place to just relax and cool off.  This is a river that has a gentle current that goes around the park.  We love to head to the Colorado Cooler when we want to do something on the mellow side while we are at the park.

There are a number of fun water slides to check out while at the park.  We personally love the Royal Flush Extreme.  This ride is so much fun!  I rode down this one on a double raft with my 8 year old.  This ride really is unique because it has a bowl that you drop into.  Then there is a hole in the bowl that you drop down into.  The Constrictor is another fun ride.  My son that is 10, and his friend really enjoyed this ride.  This ride has lots of fun twists and turns.

Wet 'n' Wild also offers a variety of great food and drink choices.  This makes it easy to pick up something to snack on while at the park.  They also offer great cabanas that you can rent.  The cabanas feature chairs and chaises.  The cabanas also provide you with a cabana host.  This makes it even easier if you want to order food or drinks, and have it brought right to your cabana.

These are just some of the great things you will find while visiting Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas.  You can visit their website to learn more, and to find out about information on how to plan your visit.  You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.

I have always been a fan of Adam Richman, and Man vs. Food.  Did you know that Adam Richman has a new cookbook available?  I was so excited when I found out about this, and could not wait to read it.  This is a book of meals, memories, and mouthfuls from his travels.  This really is an incredibly interesting book.  It is a great book if you are a fan of Adam Richman, or it makes an excellent gift for those that are fans of his.

This book is an incredible resource for cooking great meals.  The book includes recipes for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, sweets, and more.  The book includes recipes, but also some great photos of Adam himself.  The book also includes beautiful photos of the completed recipes.  I love to be able to see what I plan to make should look like.

The Lemon Ricotta Pancake recipe is one that looks absolutely amazing, and I was ready to make them as soon as I saw it.  This would make such a tasty meal on the weekend for breakfast or brunch. The Creamy Tomato Soup with Grilled-Cheese Sandwich Dumplings is going to be my new favorite lunch recipe, or even fun dinner recipe.  It is such a fun recipe to make, and even appeals to kids!  The Homemade Pizza recipe is also impressive.  We are big fans of pizza in our house.  I have had a hard time making pizza at home from scratch, but this recipe easily explains it so that you can make the perfect pizza.

Believe - Kids' Edition - Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Are you looking for a good book for your child that teaches them good morals and values?  Believe Kids' Edition is exactly that.  This is a great book for children that are that are 8 to 12 years of age, and up.  This is a book that is designed to help your child think, act, and be like Jesus.  I am always looking for books that will teach my children how to act, behave, and be good people.  This is a great book that can help you do that.  It is really a great book to read with your children, so that you can explain it as you read.

I truly found this book very interesting, and so did my 8 and 10 year old.  This book takes the Bible, and then shows your children how to be more like Jesus.  This book comes from a best selling author and pastor.  Randy Frazee has done an excellent job with this book, and we enjoyed how he has made it understandable for children.

This book is written in a manner that appeals to children.  The book is broken down in chapters.  The book discusses the Bible, worship, prayer, church, patience, self control, hope, humility, and so much more.  These are all great things to discuss with your children.  The book is written in a question and answer type format.  I enjoyed reading and asking my children the questions as we went through it.  The book also includes drawings that makes the book appealing, and fun for children.  This book takes actual scripture from the Bible, and explains it in an easy to understand fashion.  This really is a great book to have in your child's library at home.

Robots-4-U Summer Camp Review #STEM #Robots4U #BattleBots

Disclosure - free sample provided.

We live in Vegas, and it is so hot for a ton of outdoor activities here.  I am always looking for fun activities to keep my kids cool, and out of the Vegas heat.  I was introduced to Robots-4-U Summer Camp a few months back.  I was so excited to find out that they offer this camp in the Vegas area.  Don't worry if you are not in Vegas.  They offer Robots-4-U camp in a variety of cities across the US.  They offer camps in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Nevada.  They offer half day and full day options.  This is a great way for your child to have some amazing Summer fun!

What exactly is Robots-4-U Summer Camp?  This is a STEM based camp that is designed for children 7-17.  The camp focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  The camp is appropriate for children that are just starting out building robots.  However, it is also great for the more advanced builder.  The camp allows each child to work at their own skill level.  This makes it great because it eliminates frustration, and focuses on the child having fun.  This program really helps children build useful skills.

I love that my 8 and 10 year old are having fun, but learning while they are playing.  My 8 and 10 year old are having a blast at camp this week.  They are learning with hands on play.  The camp uses robotics kits.  Yesterday, they got to build a cart.  They loved this.  They even got to battle their bots when they were done.  Today, they were so excited to tell me about the hovercraft that they built, and then battled.  They are so excited to go back the rest of this week, and see what else they get to build.  I really like that they are learning to use their thinking skills to read the instructions on how to build different robots.  They are also using their fine motor skills to put these robots together.  They truly are having a wonderful time.  They are enjoying making new friends at camp too.  They love the instructors.  They are really amazing.  They said they provide them with assistance when needed, they are patient, and nice too!  My kids have told me that they already want to go back next year.

This really is a great camp, and I suggest you check out the Robots-4-U website to learn more about what they have to offer.  You can see if there are any camps available in your area to sign up for, or even consider this for next year as a fun Summer activity.  They also offer robotics kits on their website.  This is another way to enjoy learning about robotics at home.

You can learn more about Robots-4-U by visiting their website.  You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.

Back to School Shopping at Dollar General

Disclosure - free sample provided.

We have truly enjoyed our Summer, but it is now time for me to start thinking about shopping for back to school.  My 8 and 10 year old start back at the end of August.  I try to shop early, so I don't have to feel rushed as school approaches.  Dollar General is a great place to shop for your child's back to school needs.

Dollar General offers a huge selection of school supplies.  They offer backpacks and lunch boxes.  Dollar General has competitive prices that won't leave your wallet completely empty!  They even offer savings through their Fast Way to Save program.  This is a digital coupon program that has over $250 in savings.  These deals are only available through the 15th of August.  You can also take advantage of  the Dollar General special on stationary items.  You can save $5 off any pretax purchase of $20 or more.  They offer office supplies too.  Dollar General even has a great selection of food items that will help make lunches and snacks easy, but also healthy.  They also offer a great selection of items for those of you that have a child going away for college.  You can also check out their great selection of reasonably priced college apparel.

I went into Dollar General with a huge list of items that I needed to purchase for my 8 and 10 year old for back to school.  I was able to mark more than half of what we needed off of our list.  I only spent about $20 too!  We are required to send in items for our child's personal use, but then we also have to provide the school with items that are used by the entire class.  This can end up being pricey, but I saved big by shopping at Dollar General.

I was impressed with the prices on the IMagine line of school supplies that Dollar General offers.  I picked up pencils, glue sticks, and colored pencils from this brand.  The pencils were only 50 cents a package.  The glue sticks were very reasonable and only 25 cents a package, and 3 glue sticks came in a pack.  I also found great a great deal on Crayola Markers.  These were only $1.  Dollar General also had the other items that I needed.  I picked up sticky notes, highlighters, dry erase markers, binders, notebook paper, and composition books.  I truly am pleased with the quality of the items I purchased, but also how little the cost was by shopping with Dollar General.

These are just some of the great items you will find at Dollar General for back to school.  You can visit their website to view their current ad.  Their website will also tell you where to find a Dollar General store near you.

You can also connect with Dollar General on Facebook and Twitter.

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I am a huge fan of all Dr. Seuss books.  I honestly have some of my copies still from when I was a child.  I have given these to my children, and we have tried to pick up the other Dr. Seuss books that we did not have.  Dr. Seuss books are a great way to get your child excited about reading.  They are great for early readers.  Dr. Seuss truly knew how to make reading fun.  Dr. Seuss books are also great for older kids.  My son still loves to sit down and read one of his fun books when he wants to read something light.

Did you know that a new Dr. Seuss book is being released?  A manuscript was found for a book that was never published.  It was found in his house.  This book will be released, and I am so excited.  I cannot wait to check it out.  What Pet Should I Get? will be the first Dr. Seuss book that will be released since 1990.  This book will feature the brother and sister from One Fish, Two Fish.  This really is an exciting event!

Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose - Review

I received a copy of one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books to help celebrate the release of his new book  Thidwick The Big-Hearted Moose is an adorable story that my children love.  The book features the fun drawings of Dr. Seuss.  The book also is loaded with the sing songy rhyming that Dr. Seuss is so famous for.  The art and rhyming always make his books even more fun.  This book is written with simple text that even early readers can attempt.  The book is about Thidwick who is up at Lake Winna-Bango.  He is looking for moose moss to munch!  He continues to search for moose moss, and on his way he meets some very interesting creatures.  Thidwick meets a Bingle Bug, Tree-Spider, Zinn-a-zu Bird, and many more.  These silly creatures seem to climb on top of Thidwick's horns.  Thidwick is burdened by all the creatures on top of his head, but he doesn't want to say anything.  More and more creatures climb on top of his horns until they are completely covered.  Thidwick also encounters some danger in the book.  There are some hunters that want to try and shoot him.  Thidwick has to escape with 500 pounds on his horns!  Thidwick escapes!  He is still burdened by the heavy weight of all the creatures on his horns though as his journey continues.  Then something happens.  Thidwick loses his horns.  New horns will grow back eventually.  He then tells the creatures on his horns that they can have them!  He sets off to the other side of the lake to munch on moose-moss.  Thidwick is a nice moose, but has a hard time speaking up.  This book really teaches a fun lesson while reading.  It teaches children the importance of speaking up if you do not like something.

In honor of the release of What Pet Should I Get? Random House Kids is going to give away one
copy to one lucky reader!

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Are you a Vegas local and looking for a family friendly activity to keep you out of the heat?  Maybe you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, and want to do something fun just for the kids?  I want to introduce you to the Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas.  This is a fun museum that is geared just towards kids!  It is a great activity that will keep you out of the hot Vegas sun, but also keep your children entertained for hours.

The Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas has a brand new exhibit.  My kids and I have been excited about it because we keep seeing commercials for their Dinosaurs:  Land of Fire and Ice exhibit.  This is a great hands on way for your child to learn about dinosaurs.  They can touch a variety of different things throughout the exhibit.  They have a variety of dinos that your child can learn about.  They even have a volcano in the center of the exhibit.  My 8 year old enjoyed making a fossil print there too.

There are so many other neat things to check out while at the Discovery Children's Museum.  They have areas for pretend play.  Your child can learn about different jobs.  They can dress up and pretend.  They have a mini play grocery store, band, smoothie shop, and so much more.

The museum also offers a huge climbing structure in the middle of the building.  There are mini exhibits on each level of the structure.  You can your child can learn as they climb and play.  My kids really enjoyed this.

The museum also has an interactive water play area.  Your child will most likely end up getting a bit wet here, but it is loads of fun.  I suggest doing the water area last before you leave the museum.

These are just some of the fabulous exhibits you will see when you visit the Discovery Children's Museum.  You can visit their website to learn more about everything that they have to offer.

You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
