I See Sam Books Review and #Giveaway 7/31 CLOSED

My daughter is 5 and we have really been looking for a fun and simple way to get her to start reading.  We have tried a number of things and she just got very frustrated.  She starts Kindergarten in the Fall, so I want her to be ready.  We started with the I See Sam Books about a month ago and have been very pleased with them.  I want to tell you that these books come in a variety of levels.  I had my daughter take an assessment to see which level books to start with.  When we started the books she knew all of her letters and sounds, but struggled on blending her letter sounds together.

I received the set 1 and 2 of the I See Sam Books.  The books are simple to use which I love.  There is an easy instruction guide that came with the books too.  This explains exactly how to use them.  I was a little interested in how the method of teaching would works, so we put it to a test.  My daughter struggled a little bit with the first book.  It took a couple of times for her to be able to read it.  We have now completed the entire set of 27 books from the first set.  I am so proud of her and she is so excited that she can read.  So how does this work?  The books are very simple and basic.  You have your child read the first book.  They need to be able to be about 97% proficient in reading the book before you can move on to the next book.  The best part about this program is that there are no insanely crazy words mixed in with the simple sets.  If you are a parent of a young child you probably know what I mean.  Many early reader books have simple words, but then they throw in confusing words that frustrate your child.  I See Sam books never do that.  They are not super long books.  I think the little books are the perfect length for a beginning reader.  I also really like that the I See Sam Books continue to build on the words your child has learned.  The book sets also came with flash cards that help you reinforce the words your child is learning too.  The combination of that and the method in which these books are to be taught really help your child succeed.  My daughter has been responsive to this program.  I am really impressed.  She loves reading the books and we are going to continue to read the next level over the Summer!

My daughter is actually taking a sight words class at our local recreation center this Summer too.  The teacher was impressed that she already knew a lot of the words that are being covered in the class.  I'm thankful for the I See Sam books because it has helped her have the confidence to learn to read.  The best part is that she loves the books and is having fun while she's reading.

The I See Sam Books can be purchased directly from their website for $30 a set.  The sets contain 27 books.  I think that a little over $1 per book is reasonable!  They are definitely worth it because they do work.  They also have gift sets available as well.  I received the read to succeed gift set and that retails for $70.

I See Sam Books are a great learning resource.  They are great for children that are already reading.  They offers sets for children that are more advance as well.  They also offer books for math and spelling.  You can also connect with I See Sam Book on Facebook to learn more about their books.
