Hatch Chiles Review from Melissa's Produce

I previously reviewed some amazing items from Melissa's Produce and was given the opportunity to do another review.  I was looking at Melissa's website and saw that it was Hatch Chile season!  Have you ever had these?  I have always been intrigued by them and interested.  They have these roasting events here where you can go and purchase roasted Hatch Chile Peppers.  I was super excited when I received some of these in both the hot and mild variety.  I am a huge fan of spicy food and chile peppers, so I was ready to get cooking!

Hatch peppers a popular chile out in the Southwest!  They are from Hatch, New Mexico.  The chile peppers themselves are meaty.  They are flavorful and range from mild to medium heat.  If live in the Southwest check out Melissa's website because they offer some roasting events that you might be interested in going to!  If you are Las Vegas, like I am, they have them here too.

So how do you eat and use the Hatch chile peppers from Melissa's Produce?  You can use them in so many ways.  I roasted some of them on the bbq.  Then I removed the outer charred skin.  After that the possibilities are endless.  They can be turned into a sauce for things like enchiladas.  You could make a sauce and eat it with tortilla chips.  I plan on cooking a pork roast in my crock pot with a Hatch chile sauce.  I can't wait to continue to use them.  I've chopped some of the Hatch chile up and put it in a quesadilla.  I love both the mild and hot Hatch chile peppers I received.  How would you use them?  I have also heard they are great to add to soups and stews.  Yum!

One of my favorite things to do with chile peppers is stuff them with cheese.  You can open up the chile pepper and clean out the seeds and membrane.  I love to use jack cheese inside the pepper, but you can use whatever variety you want.  I then wrap the chile in foil and grill.  I did this with the Hatch chile peppers and it was amazing!

If you are interested trying some of these wonderful Hatch chile peppers you can find out more on Melissa's website!  You can also find a variety of other wonderful produce items that they offer too while you are there.
