Hinode Rice Review and Vegetable Rolls Recipe

Hinode Rice makes a variety of wonderful rice products.  I love all of them that I have tried.  They not only offer dried rice, but they offer ready to serve rice.  Ready to serve rice is something that is easy to cook in the microwave!  Hindode offers a variety of different rices including short grain, medium grain and long grain.  You might be wondering what the difference is?  I have found that rice with shorter grains is stickier and the longer grain is fluffier and doesn't stick together as much.

Rice sometimes seems to confuse people when it comes to cooking it from the dry state.  I use my rice cooker and it makes it very easy for me to cook.  If you need some tips on how to cook rice you can visit the Hinode website.  They have an entire section devoted to helping you create the perfect bowl of rice.

Hinode Rice is available in the US in Hawaii, California and the Pacific Northwest.  I am in Nevada and have been lucky enough to find it here too!  If you want to know if you can purchase Hindoe Rice near you I suggest checking out their store locator.

Hinode Jasmine Rice - Microwavable
I love this rice.  This is a Thai rice.  It's one of my favorites.  It is what they call a fragrant rice.  It really has amazing flavor.  It is a long grain rice that is nice and fluffy.  I received a sample of this in the Heat and Serve package and love it.  This is a great idea.  You can heat your rice in the microwave in about 2 minutes.  This is a quick way to add a delicious and healthy side dish to your meal when you are in a hurry.  I could definitely see this being really good with some stir fried veggies for a quick meal during the week.

I received a sample of this and absolutely love it.  I tried the microwavable pouch and this is a great idea.  It is a quick way again to add a healthy side dish to any meal.  The pouch heats in about 90 seconds.  My daughter will randomly ask me for rice when it's not meal time.  I love that I can warm one of these up quickly and she doesn't have to wait long.  I am a huge fan of brown rice.  I keep saying I love them all, but honestly they are all really good.  This has an excellent nutty flavor.  I love that this pouch tastes just like you made a batch of rice, but the best part is that it's much quicker!

This is a great alternative to serving white rice for a meal.  This long grain brown rice has a great flavor.  This is a little more fluffy than the medium grain brown rice.  It's also a whole grain, so it's really good for you.  My daughter loved this rice!  I think this variety would be excellent as a side dish with grilled meat.  I could definitely see it being substituted for a baked potato any night!  My favorite way to eat the Hinode Long Grain Brown Rice is to serve it with either soy sauce or a little bit of butter.

I have been using Hinode Rice now for years.  I actually started using it when I began making my own sushi. My husband is a huge fan of sushi and I purchased Hinode's Silver Pearl Rice to make sushi years ago.  I have been using it ever since.  Hinode's Silver Pearl Rice is great for eating as a side dish or it's great for sushi, vegetable rolls or making bento lunches.  It is a very high quality calrose rice.   I love this rice because it's got a great sticky texture and a wonderful taste too!  The Silver Pearl Rice is a medium grain rice.  I personally find it very easy to prepare too!  I use a rice cooker and it does almost everything for me.

I am going to share with you a vegetable roll recipe that I make with the Hinode Silver Pearl Rice.  It is very easy and we love it!  I hope you enjoy it too.

Vegetable Rolls with Hinode Silver Pearl Rice Recipe

Ingredients. . . .

1 cup Hinode Silver Pearl Rice - prepared per directions on the bag
1 cucumber cut into long thin strips
1 carrot cut into long thin strips
Spring Roll Skins - these are not egg roll wrappers (these are the dry rice ones in the Asian food section)

Directions. . . .

Place the cooked rice in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.  I leave a tiny spot open so the steam and sneak out.  Allow the rice to cool.  This usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour.  Prepare your Spring Roll Skins.  I have the best luck doing these one at a time.  I would take wax paper and place it on you counter to prepare these.  Wet each Spring Roll Wrapper under the faucet.  Wait until the wrapper softens.  Once softened place a layer of rice on the wrapper.  Next place carrots and cucumber down the center.  Roll the entire thing up to make a long roll.  Cut the roll with a serrated knife.

Serve with soy sauce and wasabi for dipping.  You can use any veggies you want in the center too!

These make a great snack or lunch.  I even make mine the day ahead!  Enjoy.
