Hurst Family Harvest Review

We eat a lot of soups in the Fall and Winter months.  They are simple and easy dinners and I love a warm bowl of soup when it's cold.  We love bean soups.  Hurst Family Harvest offers a great variety of different bean soups.  The beans from their soups are from the US too!  I love that they include the beans and seasonings needed to make the soups.  You just need to add a few fresh ingredients to most of them to turn them into a meal.

I received some great samples from Hurst Family Harvest.  I was so excited by all of the different yummy varieties of soup.  They offer flavors for all different taste buds too.  What is your favorite type of bean soup.  I usually make a split pea soup, but Hurst Family Harvest has introduced me to so many great new varieties that I had never tried.  They offer the following varieties. . .

Traditional Slit Pea Soup

We loved all of the flavors of soup that are available from Hurst Family Harvest.  The Bayou Cajun Red Bean Soup is wonderful if you love a little spice and zip.  The Chipotle Lime Black Bean Soup is another very flavorful soup that is great for those that like spice.  The Southwestern White Bean Chili is something new to me.  I have never tried a chicken chili and this mix is perfect for that!  If you want something a little less spicy then I would suggest their Traditional Split Pea Soup or the Homestyle Tri-Bean Soup.  These are flavorful and delicious.

A new favorite dish of ours is the Lemon Herb Lentil Salad.  I have been wanting to try making a lentil salad and this mix makes it so easy.  You just add a few fresh ingredients and it's that easy.  I opted to use balsamic vinegar in the dressing mix for this recipe and used chopped tomatoes.  The Lemon Herb Lentil Salad from Hurst Family Harvest is so good!  My 5 year old loves it so much that she eats entire bowls of it. This is a great alternative to something like a pasta salad or macaroni salad.
