Las Rocas Wine - Rose Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I love a glass of wine in the evening, but often in the warmer months I choose a lighter wine.  What type of wine is your go to in the Spring and Summer?  I often pick wines that are light, refreshing, and crisp.  I like a wine that is easy to drink in the warmer months too.  I want to introduce you to Las Rocas Rose.

Las Rocas is a Spanish winery in Calatayud.  They create some of the most sought after wines.  They use Garnacha grapes to create this Rose.  I thought it was really neat when I found out that some of the vines that these grapes grow on are about 80 years old.  This Rose has a beautiful pink color.  The wine is made with a unique technique too.  They just briefly macerate the grapes.

The Las Rocas 2012 Rose is a wonderful wine.  It is light, crisp, and refreshing.  It is said to have hints of fruitiness from strawberry and raspberry.  I have had other rose wines and I found the Las Rocas to be one of the best.  I usually find a rose to be too sweet and the Las Rocas surprised me because it was not sweet.  I think the Las Rocas 2012 Rose would be great with a light meal.  It could be paired with cheese, fruit, poultry, pork, desserts and much more.  This bottle retails for about $14.
