Giovanni Rana Pasta and Sauce Review and #Giveaway 7/25 CLOSED

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I love pasta.  I really can't say that enough.  I have been in love with really good Italian food since I was a little kid.  I honestly could eat stuffed pasta - like ravioli every night.  My entire family loves it.  However, if you make it from scratch it can be very time consuming.  I often look for simpler alternatives to making it from scratch.  I will say though that not all pasta from the refrigerator section is the same.  I want to introduce you to a company that makes wonderful pasta and sauces.  Giovanni Rana makes delicious pasta and takes the hard work out of it for you!

Giovanni Rana offers refrigerator pastas that taste like homemade.  They are made with a passion.  They have been making pasta for over 50 years.  I would call them pasta making experts because their pasta is so good.  Giovanni Rana pasta is made with true Italian heritage too.  You truly can tell by the way it tastes.

What kind of pasta do they offer?  They offer filled pasta like ravioli and tortelloni.  I love these.  They also offer pastas like fettuccinne, lasagna noodles, spaghetti, angel hair, and more.  They also offer a variety of delicious pasta sauces.  The sauces they offer include marinara, basil pesto, alfredo, and bolognese.  What variety of their pasta and sauce would you want to try?

I received an amazing selection of pastas and sauces from Giovanni Rana.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  I didn't know what variety of pasta and sauce to try first.  I opted to try the the Ravioli Spinaci E Ricotta.  These were so good!  The pasta was nice and tender and delicate.  I love that the pasta dough isn't too thick.  The filling consisted of flavorful ricotta cheese and spinach.  The ravioli is very generously filled.  We topped these with the bolognese sauce and it was very good.  My husband is very picky as he grew up eating homemade ravioli and sauce that his grandma made.  He loved the Giovanni Rana and said that they were very good.  He was impressed by the quality of ingredients in both the pasta and the sauce.

We also sampled a variety of other pastas and sauces that were very impressive.  We enjoyed all of the varieties.  The Tortelloni Porscuitto was very good.  This is another one of my favorites.  This combines ricotta and porscuitto wrapped in a light pasta dough.  The Ravioli Cheese "Forte" is a ravioli for cheese lovers.  This has a more intense and aged cheese flavor that is nice and robust.  I really liked this one too.  If you like a milder cheese ravioli then there is also the Ravioli Cheese "Delciato."  This is a blend of very lightly flavored cheeses.  My 6 year old really liked this one with the Marinara.  The next pasta I want to tell you about is the Ravioli Artichoke.  I grew up eating artichokes and love them. This has a wonderful artichoke filling with amazing flavor.

I want to also tell you that the Giovani Rana's sauces are very good.  We are extremely picky about pasta sauce in our house.  It needs to be flavorful, savory, and not taste like ketchup.  We don't like sweet pasta sauces.  The Givovani Rana Bolognese and Marinara were impressive.  They taste like they are homemade.  I truly love mixing and matching the sauces with different pastas too and creating delicious combinations.  I really enjoyed the Pesto Sauce as well.  This combines intense flavor from basil, garlic and cheeses.  It is the perfect light sauce.  It's also really good on fresh bread.

These are just some of the great pastas and sauces from Giovani Rana.  If you live in the NY, Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida areas you can check out their website and find out where to buy this wonderful pasta!  They are currently expanding to other markets too, so keep an eye out for it too.  I would love to see them carrying this out west!
