MacMurray Ranch Wines New Releases Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

I am a big fan of MacMurray Wines.  I have had them previously and they have been excellent.  The MacMurray Ranch is located in the Russian River Valley in California.  They do use grapes from the Russian River Valley, but also from the Central Coast in their wines.  This ranch has been around since the 1850's.  This is really neat!  The ranch was purchases by the actor Fred MacMurray in 1941.  He began to raise cattle on the land.  His daughter now is very involved with the ranch and wine making.

2012 Russian River Valley Pinot Gris
This is a dry white wine.  It's crisp and refreshing.  It has a clean taste.  It is said to have flavors from fruit like white peach, apple and more.  The flavor of this wine is said to enhance with age too.  The grapes from this wine come from the MacMurray Ranch and the Two Rock Vineyard.  The wine is made with Pinot Gris grapes.  This wine retails for about $20 a bottle.

2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
This is an excellent Pinot Noir.  It is rich and flavorful.  It's a dry red, but not as intensely flavored as some reds can be.  This Pinot Noir is a smooth red.  It's easy to drink.  It is said to have flavors like red fruit too.  I found that this wine got even better after letting is breath a little.  The wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes that are harvested from the Russian River Valley area.  This bottle retails for about $28.

2011 Central Coast Pinot Noir
This is also a very good Pinot Noir.  The grapes from this wine come from the Central Coast and Sonoma region.  I found it very interesting that this wine is said to have flavors of cola, pomegranate, cherry, vanilla and oak.  You can taste this a little bit when you try the wine.  This is also a dry red wine with a robust flavor.  This bottle retails for about $23.
