Great Spring and Summer Reading for Children from Disney - Review

My kids will be on Spring Break soon.  We like to spend time outdoors playing, but we also like to find some nice quiet activities.  We love to read when we need some quiet time.  Disney offers a great selection of books for children.  I received a great selection of books from them.  I know these are going to be a hit and are perfect to keep my kids entertained over Spring Break.

World of Reading

World of Reading books are a great style book for new readers.  These come in a variety of levels.  They offer pre-1 books up to level 3.  The pre-1 books are the most simple.  The level 3 books are geared towards 1st through 3rd graders.  I have a 1st grader and 3rd grader and they love the World of Reading books.  They offer these featuring all different characters too!  This is Thor is a level 1 reader.  It retails for $3.99 and will be released May 6th.  My kids love Marvel characters.  This is a great book.  My 1st grader enjoys the pictures and the story.  It is perfect for children up to about 1st grade.  She enjoyed learning about Thor!  The World of Reading X-Men Days of Future Past is a level 3 reader.  This book has a little more challenging text.  My 3rd grader has an easy time reading it.  My 1st grader also enjoyed it, but needed a little help with the more challenging words.  This book features Wolverine, Professor X, and more!  I love that this book is written like a beginner chapter book.  We have been getting my daughter started on reading simple chapter books, so this is perfect! The Doc McStuffins Starry, Starry Night is a level 1 reader.  This is a cute story and is great for the Doc McStuffins fan!  The book talks about how they are going to watch a meteor shower.  Minnie's Summer Vacation is a pre-1 level reader.  This book is great for preschool aged kids and older.  The book follows the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters as they decide what to do during Summer!

Minnie & Micky

Do you have a child that loves Minne Mouse?  My daughter is a huge Minnie fan!  Disney offers a huge selection of books that feature Mickey & Minnie.  The Mickey & Minnie Read-and-Listen Storybook was a hit with my little girl.  This book is written more like a chapter book, but it has full color illustrations throughout.  The book features 6 stories.  These include The Pet Show, The Perfect Picnic, A Good Day for a Sail, The Kitten Sitters, The Summer Day, and The Birthday Surprise.  My daughter loves kitties, so her favorite was The Kitten Sitters.  This book will be available June 17th and will retail for about $10.99.  Minnie's Bow-Tastic Sticker Collection is a book that will provide hours of fun!  This book is loaded with over 1,000 reusable stickers.  My daughter sat for a long time placing the stickers in the correct place on each page.  She also enjoyed the extra fun stickers that come in it!  These can be used for anything.  Minnie is Paris is another great book featuring Minnie!  This is a beautifully illustrated hard bout picture book.  The book follows Minnie as she takes a trip to France.  I love that the book is written simply, so that even my 1st grader can read it with ease!  This book will be available for purchase on May 13th!  I was so excited about the Minnie & Friends Cookbook.  My kids love to cook and this is a great way to get your kids involved in the kitchen.  The book features recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and more.  The Donald's Go Bananas!  Pancakes sound great!

Planes

Have you seen the movie Planes?  Disney offers a variety of great books that feature the wonderful characters from the movie Planes.  Fly-And-Drive is a Read-Along Storybook.  This also comes with a CD.  The CD is neat because it has 4 stories and they even use character voices from the movie.  The book is also wonderfully illustrated with colorful pictures.  The book will be available for purchase June 3rd.  I also received a copy of Dusty's Big Job.  This is another great picture book!  This book is made of durable cardboard pages too.  This is great if you have a kid that is rough on books.  The book follows Dusty as he tries to help put out a fire.  The book will be available June 3rd and will retail for about $10.99.

Sofia

Sofia's Magic Lesson is about Sofia taking a sorcery class.  My daughter really liked the story.  It talks about how she is trying to prepare for a test that is coming up!  This book will be available on May 6th and will retail for about $3.99.  Sofia's Royal Sticker Collection is another great book loaded with so many reusable stickers.  This is a great book for a nice quiet activity.  This book will be available May 13th.

X-Men

The X-Men book was really a great book for my son!  He loved it.  The book is a full color picture book.  The book is actually based on the comic book stories too.  The book will be available for purchase on April 22nd.

Frozen

Do you have kids obsessed with everything relating to the movie Frozen?  Disney offers a selection of Frozen books!  They offer all levels of these too.  I received a hard cover picture book.  A Sister More Like Me is a colorful picture book.  It follows the story of Elsa and Anna.  Disney also offers a Frozen Junior Novelization.  This is for children that can read more challenging books.  This is a novelization of the movie.  The book also features an insert with some full color pages from the movie.
