We have been looking for fun and educational activities to keep us busy during the hot Summer months. My kids and I try and stay indoors in the afternoons, and out of the hot Vegas sun. Learning games are always a fun way for us to do something indoors. Learning Resources offers a great selection of learning materials that can help you make learning fun during the Summer, or any time of year. They offer materials in a variety of different subjects and they offer materials for all different ability levels.
We received a really fun game from Learning Resources. Their Stacker Crackers Sound Swap Game is really fun, but it's also super cute! My kids really enjoyed the fun packaging. It looks like a box of cracker, but inside is a game. The packaging also has the directions on how to play on the package. The neat part is that it is written to look like an ingredient list. The game consists of crackers and cheese that are made out of cardboard. Each player picks from the box. They then read the word. The goal is to change any sound in the word. If your word is dog, then you could change it to something like dot or hog. The player then gets to keep the card if they are correct. You then stack your cheese and crackers on top of each other. If a player chooses a stack attack card, then you have to place all your cards back in the cracker box. This is really a fun game. I even enjoy playing it.
