Have you ever wanted to test your DNA to find out what ethnicity you exactly are? There are a few companies out there that do this. I was recently introduced to My Heritage. They offer DNA test kits that are shipped right to your door. This is an easy way to test your DNA to determine your ethnicity.
How does the process work? You receive the kit and it is delivered to your home. You need to read the instructions. You swab the inside of your mouth, and send the samples back in. Once they receive the sample you can then track what stage of the extraction process your DNA is in.
Once your DNA has been processed you then have access to some interesting features through the My Heritage website. The website gives you a DNA estimate, and this tells you what percentage you are of what ethnicity. It even provides a map to show you that region. I was pretty impressed. You also then have the ability to look at DNA matches. Theses are possible relatives based on your DNA.
