Summer Skin care Must Haves Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

What are some of your favorite skin care products?  I was recently introduced to some new skin care items that have really helped me take care of my skin during the Summer months.

I recently went to the dermatologist and was told I had a few sun damage spots on my arms and neck.  They froze these spots off, but told me I need to protect my skin from the sun better.  I always apply sunblock with a high SPF, but because I am very fair I can still burn.  I live in Las Vegas so it is pretty much impossible to avoid the sun.

My dermatologist suggested that I try Heliocare.  I had never heard of it.  Heliocare is a dietary supplement that you take orally.  It helps maintain the skin's ability to protect itself against the aging effects of free radicals.  You simply take one capsule in the morning.  If you are going to be in the sun for an extended period you can follow with more throughout the day.

I have been taking Heliocare supplements and have found that I don't burn like I would without taking them.  I use this in conjunction with a good sunblock.  My skin seems to be much more protected from the intense sun here in Vegas.  I will typically end up burned in about 2 hours with reapplying sunblock when I'm out at the pool with my family.  I haven't burned once since taking Heliocare.  I can actually enjoy being in the pool with my family, and I don't have to ho hide in the shade after a short amount of sun exposure.  I am impressed and plan to continue to use Heliocare during the Summer months.

Protecting my skin is very important to me.  I have melanoma that runs in my family, and I have very fair skin.

What else do you do to take care of your skin in the Summer?  I have very dry skin in the Summer because it is so dry in Vegas.  I have to use a good moisturizer.  Do you have a favorite line of moisturizing products?

I was recently introduced to theraplex.  I fell in love with their moisturizers.  My daughter and I both suffer from eczema.  It can be difficult to find a moisturizer that is gentle and great if you have eczema prone skin.  Theraplex is a product that is accepted by the National Eczema Association.  They offer a variety of skin care products.  My 11 year old and I first tried the Theraplex Hydrolotion.  This is a dily skin moisturizer.  It keeps your skin hydrated.  It feels like it puts a barrier on your skin.  It is hypoallergenic, preservative free, fragrance free, paraben free, gluten free, and it is not tested on animals.  It is perfect to apply after the shower, or after a day in the pool.  It didn't irritate our skin either.  The theraplex clear lotion is also a great moisturizer to use after the shower or bath.  This is an oil moisturizer that you can spay on your skin.  I found this lotion to be super moisturizing, and easy to apply.
