Contraptions are a fun building toy for kids age 7 and up. It's a toy that allows kids to build and use their imagination. It allows them to be creative and it helps them use their thinking skills. I am the mom of a 6 year old and 4 year old. My son especially, loves to build things. He's very close to 7, so I thought this would be perfect for him. Contraptions are wood blocks for building. All of the blocks are exactly the same. You build different structures with them and then - the fun part - you race the ball down the structure. We actually all had a blast playing with this. My husband and I enjoyed helping the kids build. I will say that my son needed a little bit getting started on building, but after that he was able to think and figure it out on his own. I love toys like this that make your kids think about how things work.
