Big House Wines - Wine Cask Review

I have previously reviewed some of the Big House Wines and really enjoyed them.  They not only have a very cute name, but they also taste great.  They are a reasonably priced wine too.

You are probably wondering about the name "Big House Wines."  They have this name because they are very close to a correctional facility.  Big House Wine comes from California.  They are located in Soledad.  So with a name like this they have also created fun names for each of their wines too.  They include Big House Red, The Slammer Syrah, Big House White, The Birdman Pinot Grigio and more.  How fun is that?  These make a great gift for someone with a sense of humor or for a wine lover.

I received a sample of the Big House Red in a cask.  This is a great idea.  It is about equal to 4 bottles of wine.  What I love about this is that you don't have to worry about opening an entire bottle of wine.  I sometimes want to just have a glass.  The cask makes that easy to do.  You can just pour yourself a glass and then the remaining wine stays fresh.  The wine will stay fresh in the cask for about 6 weeks.  I also love the packaging on this.  It's really cute.  Big House Wines make a fun gift for the wine enthusiast or anyone that has a great sense of humor.  The wine cask retails for $22 or you can purchase Big House Wines in a bottle for about $9.99.

This is a great wine and it has a hint of fruitiness to it.  It is a combination of a number of different grapes.  This is not a sweet wine though.  It's full of flavor and smooth.  I like it with red meat or red pasta sauce.  What would you drink this with?

You can also connect with Big House Wines on Facebook and Twitter.
