Crisproot Cassava Root Chips Review

I love snack foods and always look for delicious and healthy alternatives to high calorie snacks.  I found out about Crisproot chips and was really interested in trying them.  They are not a potato chip though.  The Crisproot chips are a healthier alternative to your regular high calorie snack food.  They are even gluten free. They are made with a root vegetable called the cassava root.  I was not familiar with the cassava root.  I found out that it is a very interesting root veggie.  It is a native plant in South America.  Maybe you have heard of tapioca?  That is a term that I am more familiar with.  Cassava is also another name for tapioca.

The Crisproot chips come in a variety of tasty flavors.  They offer the following flavors. . . .

Thai Ginger

Sea Salt

Original

and

BBQ Bliss!

I first opened a bag of Thai Ginger chips.  I am a huge fan of Thai flavors, so I was really excited to try these.  I loved them.  They have a great Thai inspired seasoning on them.  They are so good.  I love that they have a little bit of heat to them too.  They are amazing and my favorite!

I also really like the BBQ Bliss variety, but all of them are really good.  I was curious at first how these would compare to a potato chip.  They seem crunchier and I really like that.  I also really like that they don't seem as greasy as a traditional potato chip.  They also have a heartier texture too.  The flavor is excellent.  The cassava root seems to have a little bit sweeter flavor to me than a regular potato.  The best way for me to describe it would be a cross between the flavor of a sweet potato and a regular potato.
I was really impressed with how many chips you can have per serving too!

These are going to be one of our new favorite snack foods!  I love that I can feel good about eating them and not feel guilty for over indulging.  These are a great snack for kids too.  They are healthy and nutritious.  They are great to put in lunches as well.  There are so many holiday events where people serve chips and dip.  This would be a really great way to lighten up and make chips and dip a little more healthy.

You can visit the Cripsroot website to learn more about their delicious chips.  You can also purchase them directly from the website.  You can also use their product locator to find out where to buy them at a store near you.  I am super excited because my local Whole Foods carries them!  You can also connect with Crisproot on Facebook and Twitter.
