Random House Children's Books - Back to School Review

Disclosure - free sample provided.

Are you looking for great books for your children now that they are back to school?  My 8 and 10 year old are required to read as part of their homework every night for at least 30 minutes.  I love when they pick out a book, and curl up with it to relax.  I think it is so important for children to enjoy reading.  We always have a great selection of books around the house for my kids to read.  Random House Kids offers a huge selection of books for children.  They offer books for all reading levels.  I received a few of their new releases and my kids loved them.

Emma and the Blue Genie is a great early chapter book.  This is written by the new York Times bestselling author of Inkheart.  Corniela Funk has done a great job with this book too.  This is a great book if your child loves to use their imagination.  The book is about a genie that is set free.  The genie is name Karim.  Karim is different though.  Karim can't grant wishes anymore.  His magic has been taken.  This book teaches children the importance of helping others.  Emma and her dog help the genie find his magic.  This book is geared towards children 7 to 10 years of age.  The chapter book is also made more fun with illustrations throughout.  I know my 8 year old really enjoys chapter books with pictures because it helps her really get into the book.

We still love picture books even though my kids are 8 and 10.  My 8 year old really loves to read these and look at the pictures.  Space Dog is a wonderfully illustrated picture book by Mini Grey.  The book is written in an almost comic book style fashion. This book incorporates humor throughout it too.  This is a story about Space Dog.  He is traveling through space and finds out that Astrocat is in trouble.  Space Dog really wants to help.  Astrocat and Space Dog are not the best of friends though.  This book great to read to pre-K or Kinder students.  It is also fun for older children to read too!

These are just some of the fun titles that Random House Kids offers.  You can visit their website to learn more about all of the books they have available.
